Job Title: User Experience Architect

Job Purpose

As a User Experience Architect, you will be hands-on, and will be expected to bring new and fresh ideas to Nielsen and its evolution of several widely known and used products and applications. Additionally your primary responsibility is to provide consultation and guidance to Product Managers to develop and influence user centered business strategy. This position requires understanding of client / user needs to oversee assigned products, applications, or solution areas. Deep knowledge of products, users, and Nielsen delivery platforms and processes is required. Key responsibilities include leadership of program initiatives, building internal business relationships with program stakeholders and sponsors, and owning the User Experience of the in-market products set.

Job Responsibilities
• Perform competitive analyses of internal and external products.
• Conduct contextual inquiry (in person observation & interviews) with target users to understand their mental models and behaviors.
• Analyze and synthesize user research and understanding to define appropriate functionality and product requirements to drive future re-designs.
• Define target users and author detailed user personas
• Modeling & Task Flow Creation: Conceptualizing ideal user paths/task flows/scenarios, etc.
• Collaboratively develop prototypes for demonstration of concepts.
• Define and design User Experience Architectures (comprised of navigational systems, information architectures, interaction flows, sitemaps, etc)
• Creation of wireframes: Identifying key screen types and generating full screen inventories
• Usability Testing: Conducting usability testing, analyzing the results and creating a recommendations report.
• Ensure product teams are applying Nielsen UX/UI standards and processes including user feedback and testing through design and development
• Driving User Centered Design into all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

Job Description

We are looking for UI/UX designers with strong interests and capabilities in the design and development of highly engaging web/mobile application. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design engagement. The candidate will also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment. A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies is a must.

· Executing interaction design and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team

· Collaborating on user experience planning with a lead software architect

· Researching technology trends

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
· Three or more years of UXD experience for Mobile devices, consumer electronics and Web applications which leverages emergent technologies.

· Overall responsibility for understanding the brief and converting that into appealing, highly usable user-centric design interfaces, task flows, screen designs and interaction models.

· Develops understanding of the end users of the application through secondary and primary research (user interviews, research data) and thus capable of low fidelity prototypes. Presents high fidelity designs/mock-ups.

· Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail

· Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator/CorelDraw, InDesign, Fireworks and/or associated design tools

· Experience with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Understanding of common software project management practices

· Understanding of common software development practices

ADDITIONAL

· Working knowledge of Android, HTML/CSS, jQuery, JavaScript.

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interaction design, new media design or related design field
