Job Description

The User Experience Designer will play a critical role in shaping the user experience of JDA solutions across multiple product suites. The UX Designer is responsible for uncovering actionable insights from user research and to develop meaningful strategies for improving interactive experiences. You will also be responsible for creating wireframes, mock-ups, low and high fidelity prototypes that are grounded in user-based findings. This position requires a creative visual thinker who has a passion to be continually learning about new technologies, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and strongly believes in advocating the end-user’s needs and behaviors. You will work closely with the UX, development, and management teams.

Candidate must demonstrate experience in creating UX design solutions that is based on findings from user research, UCD principles, and best practices. Examples could either be low or high fidelity prototypes/mockups.

What you will do:
• Help drive agile UX processes, interacting with both product management and product development teams
• Understand business requirements of various JDA product suites as needed
• Assist with and attend a wide range of user-centered research projects including usability testing, contextual and stakeholder interviews
• Create wireframes, mockups, low and high fidelity prototypes that advocate industry standards, best practices, and effectively communicate findings from user research.
• Work with the UX Design team to help shape and create innovated and highly usable user experience guidelines
• Present and rationalize design strategy and decisions to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations.

Skills

• Proven experience in UX design.
• A passion for transforming user research into simple, intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces and experiences.
• Excellent design ability and amazing attention to detail, along with a proficiency in Adobe CS products.
• Skilled in at least one method of user interface prototyping (e.g. Axure, Visio, Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote)
• Understanding of web accessibility and user interface web standards with a broad knowledge of current and best practices.
• Understanding of mobile design principles

Job Description

Job Description

Lead a small and fast-paced team UX team at Jifflenow to enhance and extend our existing platform and create a new products. As the UX Manager, you will be responsible for the entire design lifecycle and will develop and enforce a set of design principles to keep our keep our products consistent and extraordinarily easy to use. You will also manage the Jifflenow UX team.

Responsibilities
• Lead Jifflenow’s user experience design -- including the overall information architecture, detailed interaction design, visual design, and data visualization – across web and mobile interfaces.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of 3-4 interaction designers and visual designers on a daily basis.
 Recruit and hire additional designers if necessary over time.
• Create and maintain a style guide to ensure a consistent user experience across all Jifflenow products. Be the champion of this style guide across the organization.
• Work collaboratively with Product Managers to fully understand user stories, create wireframes, develop low fidelity and high fidelity prototypes of the UX as part of a user-centered design process, listen to feedback, and iterate as need be to arrive at easy-to-use solutions which will “wow” our customers.
• Ensure UX team works seamlessly with SCRUM teams in 2-week sprints by delivering graphic elements, and modifying UX as necessary for feasibility or speed of implementation.
• Research the latest UX/UI concepts, trends and best practices, and incorporate into our practices and design patterns.
• Leverage Customer Success team (as proxies for customer) to get early feedback on mock-ups. Work collaboratively with Customer Success team to get regular feedback directly from customers.
• Perform usability studies, either on low fidelity mock-ups, high fidelity mock-ups, or actual products in production.

Skills

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in human-computer interaction (HCI)
• 6-8+ years of experience as a UX designer across web-based B2B and B2C products, and at least 2-3 years experience managing other designers
• A portfolio demonstrating experience with solving complex applications/work-flows with simple and elegant UX
• Strong sense of design and aesthetics that delivers a self-evident experience for users.
• Deep knowledge of interaction design and data visualization best practices for both web and mobile (both iOS and Android).
• Must have a highly practical approach to UX – is always asking the question, “Does this user experience allow the user to accomplish their task as quickly and easily as possible?”
• Experience working collaboratively in a fast-moving startup environment

Job Description

This individual will design creative solutions that promote user adoption, self-service, and ease of use to support the business needs. The UX designer will work collaboratively with other teams taking a project from inception, through analysis, prototyping, visual design, finally to implementation whilst ensuring the customers’ experience and needs remain the focus.

The User Experience Designer will follow a user-centered design process, understanding real users – their goals, aptitudes, experiences, needs, and motivations. In this role you will approach design from a user-perspective and balance users' needs alongside business goals and technical capabilities. You will be working closely with product managers, software developers and web designers to determine necessary features and drive the design of products.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design and Deliver compelling, elegant, pleasurable and sophisticated end-to-end user experience solutions for multiple products and platforms, from assessing and defining customer needs to delivering concepts, to prioritizing features, to presenting and evaluating prototypes, to validating user experience feedback.
• Participate in developing the user research and user experience plans for each project, including customer visits, contextual inquiry, interviews and observation, focus groups or surveys as needed.
• Work closely and efficiently with a cross-functional and interdisciplinary team that includes other Designers, Developers, Project and Product Management, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, and Business Partners among other team members.
• Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary products for the purpose of bringing new design ideas to each project.
• Recognize and communicate user experience risks as they arise and make design recommendations that take into account tradeoffs, scope creep, iterative design, phased releases.
• Quickly and iteratively create artifacts that illuminate user tasks, define proposed product functionality, turn business requirements into conceptualizations of the proposed product, and effectively communicate the overall user experience to the project team and our business partners. These artifacts may include:
• Competitive product analyses, Personas, Task/process flows, screen flows, storyboards, usage scenarios, detailed descriptions of proposed interactions/behaviors, usage models
• Information architectures, site maps, navigation maps, page flows, sketches, conceptual design mockups, wireframes, prototypes, interaction design idioms and other user experience design deliverables as needed.
• Gather and Track feedback and key design decisions generated from continuous review of these artifacts to iteratively improve the user experience with interactive products.
• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging design principles and best practices in user interface design, interaction design, information architecture, usability theory, and evaluation techniques.
• Plan and conduct usability evaluations using semi- to fully-functional prototypes or existing applications.
• Defend your design decisions with well-structured arguments, design rationale that reflects current and emerging standards

Skills

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working as a User Experience Designer, Interaction Designer, Information Architect (or closely related field) in the design of websites, web applications, desktop, and/or mobile applications.
• Practical knowledge of user research methods, including lab-based usability studies, field studies, and usability inspections (heuristic evaluations or cognitive walkthroughs)
• Understanding of UX principles and best practices, and the latest trends in design and user experience.
• Understanding of user-centered design methods and usability principles, technical implications of design.
• Communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
• Expertise in comparing, contrasting, and prioritizing among alternative approaches to meeting design objectives, and using judgment to suggest solutions to design problems that optimize among customer needs, business constraints, and technological realities.
• Knowledge of and experience creating UX deliverables such as personas, scenarios, use cases, user stories, task flows, flow charts, storyboards, site maps, information architectures, mockups, wireframes, prototypes, user interface, and style guides.
• Analytical ability, especially with regard to observation of user behavior
