Job Description

A strong portfolio featuring design work for enterprise, that showcases information architecture, interaction design, information design, visual design and mobile design skills and how the designs lead to positive business outcomes. Exposure to basic user research techniques such as contextual inquiry, user interviews, usability testing, card sorting and/or related techniques. Translate concepts into wire-frames and mock-ups that lead to intuitive user experiences. Experience performing Heuristic Evaluations and Usability Tests as well as documenting results and translating the findings into design improvements. Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces. Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features. Take a user-centred design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs. Experience working with the Agile methodology, End or Lean UX. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders. Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail.

Skills

• Accredited post-secondary User Experience and/or Visual/Graphic Design-focused program (3+ year programs preferred)

• Fluent with design sketching and prototyping, such as paper (of course), mid fidelity, Hi fidelity.
• You love sketching concepts, optimizing flows and provide visionary designs. You think big but act pragmatically where need be.
• You must have an excellent design portfolio that showcases their creative and practical skills (provide PDF or URL of sample design work).

Oversee design projects to ensure product consistency and efficiency ahead of deadlines Evangelize and promote the value of user experience throughout the organization and be a leader for all things related to UX Collaborate and negotiate with stake holders to ensure designs are both functional and intuitive to users Meet with customers to promote upcoming user experience updates and to participate in user feedback sessions to collect feedback Motivate and mentor team to develop and design a world-class user-centric experience within the product Take on critical projects as a designer when necessary

Skills

• 5+ years of experience in a UX role within a consultative or corporate environment
• Degree in human computer interaction, visual design, computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle within an agile environment
• Understanding of design fundamentals including information design, visual design, industry UI standards for desktop, mobile and web-based applications, and ease of use best practices
• Experience building personas, mental models, user task flows, sketching, paper prototyping, creating wire frames and visual design concepts
• Detail oriented self-starter with strong presentation skills able to effectively communicate ideas and present solutions to executives and other stakeholders
• Leading brainstorming meetings and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Expert with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Experience Design (XD)
• Experience designing responsive web and mobile applications in the Enterprise space is a plus
