Job Description

Create the UI and interaction design specs as needed through the creation of user experience briefs, site maps, concept diagrams, user scenarios, user-flows, wireframes, visual comps, and both rapid lo-fi and detailed high-fidelity interactive prototypes. · Create multiple solutions to a single design problem and iterate to a final design. · Drive optimal experiences, measured in terms of usability, intuitiveness, consistency, time to market, and ultimately, business success metrics. · Develop and maintain detailed visual and user-interface specifications and design patterns. · Conduct user research to better inform user stories, priorities and solutions. · Advocate industry standards and user-centric design principals and champion innovative techniques and solutions. · Ability to present and pitch design solutions to leadership team, business stakeholders, partner stakeholders, and executives for review and feedback. · Ability to estimate level of effort for tasks for design initiatives. · Ability to lead brainstorming sessions. · Able to critique other creative work, offering direction for improving quality, consistency or strategy. · Ensure that the product is delivered on time and with a consistent, user-driven design. · Provide insights on where user needs are not being met at the feature level. · Provide recommendations for ongoing product strategy based on qualitative and quantitative data. · Coordinate or execute user research efforts, e.g., interviews, usability testing, and surveys, as needed.

Skills

6-10 years of experience in online interaction design or information architecture, preferably e-commerce.

· Excellent communication, leadership, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

· An online portfolio or sample of work demonstrating experience creating user-centered design solutions with effective and beautiful visual designs (excellent grasp of typography, color, rhythm, alignment, balance, texture, layout) is a requirement.

· Advanced understanding of information design, web accessibility, UI, interaction and visual design best practices, limitations and constraints of front-end presentation principals and browser limitations.

· Advanced skills with a variety of design and prototyping tools.

· Ability to prototype in HTML and CSS is a plus.

· Ability to cover multiple projects and work streams in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

· Experience working in a collaborative team environment and working directly with developers, program managers, product managers and business owners for implementation of designs.

· Familiarity with agile software development processes is a plus.
