Job Description

What you’d do • Create innovative and appealing designs on a rapid and iterative basis.• Actively participate in team brainstorming and solution generation• Comprehend and visually articulate product requirements.• Conduct user/competitive research and interviews to understand user goals and prioritize features and requirements• Create low fidelity UX designs• Create storyboards, sitemaps, screen flows, wireframes and mock-ups• Define user tasks flows and data hierarchy• Create clickable prototypes across mobile, tablet and desktop via InVision or other software• Verify design assumptions through user interviews using clickable prototypes• Create high fidelity mockups and appropriate specifications to be passed onto development teams• Collaborate with Development and Testing Team to ensure the vision for patterns and micro interactions are effectively implemented before product launch.• Learn how to shoot an arrow on horseback… well, maybe not right away, but later for sure ! What you need to bring • Talent and passion in designing software UI/UX• User focused Approach - a deep understanding and appreciation of the process of identifying users’ needs.• Working knowledge of creating screen flows, interaction models, responsive layout and UI elements• Good understanding of graphic design (colour, typography, spacing, etc.)• Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign• Knowledge of information architecture• Ability to juggle high level redesigns and low level daily need - easily pivot between iterations• Keen interest to explore typographic hierarchy, iconography, imagery, colour, and texture to visually solve problems in elegant and beautiful ways.• Curiosity to keep abreast of industry developments and new design trends. Education • Academic training in Graphic Design, Arts or Applied Arts• A degree in Design with relevant experience in a creative industry

Skills

Nice to have (though not necessary)

• InVision, Sketch, Balsamiq, Axure
• Some HTML/CSS
• Knowledge of A/B testing platforms including Optimizely, Adobe Target, and TargetClose and in-page analytics tools including Google Analytics and Crazy-Egg
• Knowledge of mobile app development, including a solid understanding of UX/UI best practices and conventions on Android, iOS and web
