Designing Design Education for India Conference – March 13, 14 and 15, 2013 | Pune

The conference proposes to bring together design educators, researchers and professionals from within India, Asia and around the world to discuss, deliberate and determine the nature and future of design education framework in India for the period 2014-2019.This conference aims to understand what would be the roadmap for Design Education in India for this ensuing period.

This is not another conference. The proceedings of the conference will contribute to design enabled nation building and contributions to be conference will effectively pave way for the next generation design education in India. The conference is proposed to be a unique and engaging platform for discussing the design education in India. Due to globalization, a lot of national and international issues are interlinked. Yet, some specifics remain isolated with the local situation. Hence, the word “Indian” in the conference title is extremely important.

The conference is expected to be an outcome-oriented event and envisages moving beyond the philosophical arguments to the real issues concerning design education and its implications on future design professionals
