About the role: At Locus, our brand identity is central to everything we do: from our product, to marketing, & communications. We want to break the general perception: that a complex enterprise app cannot deliver a consistent, delightful customer experience. We're looking for designers who can help us elevate our design system & launch high-end marketing campaigns . You will collaborate with marketing & product teams to maintain visual consistency across our product, & various platforms. To do so, you need a highly refined design aesthetic, as well as an understanding for user-centered design principles. Through collaboration with engineers/UX/product managers, you will solve big interaction & visual design challenges, that can transform how people manage logistics around the world. Responsibilities: Team up with the UX Designers to implement user flows and create hi-fidelity prototypes to solve challenging UX problems and get them validated with usability tests. Collaborate with engineers to breathe life into Locus software products with end-to-end journeys, and user interfaces of your incredible designs. Design systems to make simple, elegant experiences based on our complex logistics and machine learning technology. Develop mockups and prototypes that effectively communicate the interaction and design intent. Give and solicit feedback from designers and cross-disciplinary partners. Document insights and interaction models based on user feedback. Create and maintain design systems for all of our products. Obsess over the details of visual consistency and motion design. Requirements: 2+ years of experience with UI design. Portfolio of UI-focused work samples for web and mobile applications. Expert understanding of the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion. Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills. Highly skilled in one or more preferred design tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe CC suite, InVision or any other. Effective lo-fi & hi-fi prototyping skills. Have shipped one or more product. Have cross-platform design experiences (Web, Android, iOS, emails). Nice-to-have: Able to function independently and in a team environment with solid collaboration skills. Enthusiasm and history, working in an iterative design process, motivated by group critique. Excellent creative and visual skills and ability to solve complex design problems. Locus was started by Nishith Rastogi and Geet Garg, two ex-Amazon engineers on a mission to democratize logistics intelligence for businesses across industries. Nishith was profiled by Forbes Asia in their ’30 Under 30’ 2018 list. Geet, on the other hand, holds a dual degree (BTech and MTech) in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. Our team constitutes of engineers from Indian Institute of Technology and Birla Institute of Technology & Science- Pilani, and Data Scientists with PhDs from Carnegie Mellon University and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. Our multifaced product and business team is led by senior members from Barclays, Google & Goldman Sachs with immense operational execution experience.
