A key contributor to the design system and component library, you will help drive the quality of all elements of the system. Design and maintain efficient, reusable, high quality components and patterns that can support the needs of multiple brands and markets. An experienced systems thinker, designing for scale and reuse is in your DNA. Develop features and scalable components in collaboration with UX-Research and Product, that solve user and business requirements for a broad range of global brands. Demonstrable experience using data and ux best practices to deliver well designed solutions. Contribute to decisions on the architecture of the design system and how we evolve the system for the future. Create documentation of new design rules, patterns, and systems as part of the design system to enable other teams to move more quickly with confidence. Consolidation and translation of existing or relevant design rules, patterns, systems, style guides and interaction guides. Explain, discuss, and justify design decisions eloquently. Present creative concepts and designs communicating your rationale to the team and stakeholders. Collaborate with designers on other teams to ensure best practice is followed and enable them to contribute to our design system. Evangelize our design system with other members of the design team and more broadly around the organisation.
Skills
- Excellent creative and user centred design skills with a portfolio to prove it. The ability to see the bigger picture and capacity to design for scalability and reuse, not just one-off specific solutions.
- The ability to demonstrate strong core design principles in color, typography and grid systems. With broad experience of their usage both aesthetically and technically in a web environment.
- Fluent in visual design, able to use these skills to create beautiful user experiences, and presentations
- A highly organised problem solver with the talent to distil and translate complexity into crisp, elegant and accessible designs.
- Demonstrable ability to deliver on a project from conception to the live user experience. Driving the user centered design process, managing stakeholder complexity, and producing strong deliverables autonomously if necessary.
- Skills in creating prototypes to iterate, optimise and validate your designs through user testing.
- Production of high-quality work under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience working as part of a cross-functional team in an agile environment, with fellow designers, engineers, product managers and business leaders to develop design solutions.
- Expert command of standard design applications (i.e. Figma, Principal, Protopie, Invision) Experience with user testing and data tools like GA, HotJar and Usertesting.com is a big plus.
- You’re fluent in modern web technologies and have a fundamental understanding of front-end development so you communicate effectively with software engineers to realise your designs to an extremely high standard.
- Strong understanding of web usability & accessibility, digital trends & how websites are put together
- Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail to ensure our work communicates clearly and is on brand
