Job Description

Being a passionate advocate for our users and relentless in seeking ways to make their experience with our products delightful. Collaborating with product management in user story definition for product backlogs that reflect user goals Delivering detailed designs to agile scrum teams continuously throughout product sprints. Establishing and tracking project goals, design tenets, and design and usability requirements. Working with the design team to define design visions for future product iterations Participating in the planning, conducting, documenting of user research such as heuristic evaluations, field observations, interviews, focus groups, workshops, and surveys with other designers and researchers to understand user needs. Iteratively designing solutions that satisfy project goals, requirements, and design tenets based on research, design patterns, and UI standards. Documenting design solutions through sketches, wireframes, storyboards, UI flow charts, high fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes. Providing visual design stewardship through direct creation of visual resources and through collaboration with graphic design experts within the organization. Partnering with the development team to drive the successful implementation of designs and to resolve implementation issues. Assisting in creation and maintenance of interaction and style guides and pattern libraries. Maintaining familiarity with other Autodesk products to ensure compatibility with features shared across our product family.

Skills

• 5+ years of interaction design experience, with an online portfolio demonstrating work experience
• Master's degree in a design discipline, HCI, Human Factors, Computer Science, or post-secondary education in related field. Experience with Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering a plus.
• Experience in professional user interface design or related design disciplines
• Fluency in spoken and written English with strong verbal and visual communication skills
• Proficiency with contemporary web & mobile design standards
• Previous experience designing for service-based software such as those experiences delivered across an ecosystem of web and mobile clients to diverse users
• Experience with ideation techniques such as brainstorming and design workshops
• Experience with a range of low, medium, and high-fidelity prototyping tools
• A solid understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Technical background and/or a demonstrable understanding of modern software development processes and concerns as they relate to design
• Knowledge of contemporary interaction patterns related to collaboration, such as messaging, social networking and sharing
• A demonstrated understanding or professional background in the building industry a plus
• Expert with design support tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InVision
