Consulting with clients and Product Owners to understand product goals and interpreting user research results Conducting user research and usability testing with end users in monitored sessions Creating wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps and screen flows Designing screen layouts in Sketch or Adobe XD and distributing via design collaboration frameworks like InvisionApp Prototyping product UX in Adobe XD clickable demos Analyzing user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience Must have a solid understanding of graphic design and web/Mobile technologies, and of wireframing tools such as Axure RP, Pencil or Balsamiq Must possess demonstratable skills with screen layout design programs and tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XD UX designers must have the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and a willingness to keep their skills and industry knowledge current Provide design guidance and mentorship to Intern or Junior UX Designers and Software Engineers who are learning the UX Design processes Performs as an individual contributor on products and contributes to developing Design Standards on documentation websites May be required to edit front-end style sheets and visual mark-up alongside FE Software Engineers (not solo) Ensures all product experiences are designed with the end-user and business objectives in mind, while leveraging AMATs brand and design standards Updates daily progress via online reporting and task completion via Agile project management systems Applies User Research processes to conduct usability validation and A/B Testing Works alongside UX Tech Leads to translate project requirements into visual designs and manages the refinement of those designs through to customer delivery via user testing Participates in daily Agile scrums to iterate in design sprints to meet time, budget and quality goals set by UX Design managers
Skills
- Must possess the ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design visualizations
- Must be capable of collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via remote meetings in US time zones for 2 hours per day, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval
- Must be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism, and must embrace change
- Will be expected to interface with software development version control systems and graphic library archiving in a responsible manner - to maintain centralized source code and design assets

Technical Animator designs and creates 2D & 3D technical animations and simulations for use in technical training and documentation using a wide range of development tools and platforms. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Produces technical animations and simulations including modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, rigging, animation and compositing. Develops 2D & 3D animations from design documents, sketches, photographs, hardware, and oral/written descriptions that meet quality, technical accuracy, format, specifications, and requirements. Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and instructional designers to identify the most effective solutions to address performance, knowledge and skill gaps. Uses multiple motion graphics and animation software tools to create and deliver technical animations and motion graphics. Works collaboratively and effectively with others to promote innovative approaches and enhance productivity related to motion graphics and technical animation development. Learns complex technologies and tools rapidly to "hit the ground running" in the development of technical training material. Acquires the latest industry best practices and apply those to the workplace.
Skills
- Demonstrated experience creating 2D & 3D technical animations and simulations for use in technical training and documentation.
- Expert knowledge and experience in motion graphics and animation software including but not limited to: Maya, 3DsMax, Unity 3D Engine, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere or equivalent software.
- Experience using: Siemens TeamCenter and NX, Pro/E, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SolidDesigner, and SoftImage and similar products for source rendering creation
- Highly organized and able to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment; a passionate learner and self-starter, comfortable owning projects and must have a ‘learner-focused’ mindset in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
- Familiarity implementing models for AV/VR applications a plus
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally with a global team to execute multiple project schedules.
- Technical acumen with experience working in a high-tech engineering environment a plus.
